About Elite Landscaping LLC
One Crew for the Grade, the Base, the Plants and the Water
Elite Landscaping LLC is a landscaping contractor in Bakersfield working across three services — landscape design and installation, hardscaping and outdoor living, and irrigation and drainage. Most projects touch two or three at once.
Keeping them under one crew is the point. The drainage gets thought about before the patio goes in, the irrigation is zoned to the planting instead of bolted on after, and the grade is set once, to fall away from the house. One point of contact from the first walkthrough to the last.
The Order of Work
- 1 Grade and drainage
- 2 Base and hardscape
- 3 Soil, irrigation, planting
Done in this order, a yard establishes instead of fighting the ground it sits on.

How the Work Is Done
What Holds Up Two Years Later
Grade Set First
Before anything is planted or paved, the ground is shaped to fall away from the house — a minimum of two percent for the first ten feet — and toward where the water is meant to go.
Clay Soil Opened Up
Bakersfield's dense, alkaline clay gets compost and gypsum tilled into the top six to eight inches. This is the step that decides whether plants establish in two years or struggle for five.
Base Built in Lifts
Under every patio and wall, road base goes in a few inches at a time and each layer is compacted on its own. One thick uncompacted layer is why paver fields go wavy — so it is never done that way here.
Zoned to the Planting
Irrigation valves are grouped by how much water each area of plants actually needs, so a thirsty lawn and a dry native bed are never fighting over the same run time.
Drained to Daylight
Every drain line is cut to fall and routed to a real outlet — the street, a swale, a dry well, or a sump where a flat lot has no gravity fall. Nothing is left to pond against the slab.
One Written Number
Scope and price in writing before work is scheduled, broken out by area so a section can be deferred without redrawing the whole plan. The phone figure is a range; the signed estimate is the number.
Why Elite Landscaping LLC
What Working With Us Is Like
One Crew, Not Three Trades
Design, hardscape and irrigation under one contact, so the grade, the base, the planting and the water are decided together instead of by separate crews pointing at each other.
A Number You Can Read
The written estimate is itemised by area — demo, grade, soil, hardscape, irrigation, planting — so you can see where the money goes and defer a section without starting over.
Built for Ten Years, Not Ten Months
The parts nobody sees — compaction, soil prep, drainage, zoning — are where the budget goes, because that is what decides whether the yard still looks right after a few Bakersfield summers.
